Cambodia meets Japan

For the past five years, 200 students have participated in the Cambodian-Japanese Writing Exchange Program. The BEA students are from the Intermediate and Pre-Intermediate courses while the Japanese students are from Nicole's Integrated English course and Intercultural Communication seminar in the English Literature Department at Aoyama Gakuin University in Tokyo. The results of this program will be published in Nicole's upcoming book chapter Throwing away stereotypes: Deepening intercultural understanding through Cambodia-Japan letter exchanges. It explains how Japanese learners become aware of their stereotypes, and increased their intercultural awareness through only a few limited interactions with their Cambodian writing partner. Her chapter will appear in Voices from the TESOL classroom: Participant inquiries in higher educationclasses with TESOL this September 2016.
